Workshop 8

Matrix Building for Molds
With Judith Oak Andraka

Wednesday November 3, 9:00AM - 4:30 PM

$65

Learn to build the originals-where the student will build architectural trims, doorways, parts of furniture or other pieces from which to make a mold-including flat pieces, 3-dimensional pieces, doorways, trim or anything else you would like to customize for your miniatures. The workshop will include hands-on design and making of moldings, ornaments, doorways, windows, and other parts from many types of materials. Students may also enroll in the second day class -Mold Making Simplified- where they will make the actual molds and cast them in resin.

Discussion and demonstration will include building various matrices for making molds and the types of molds to make what you wish to craft. Finished pieces will vary with individual students. This class can be paired with Mold Making Simplified (see Workshop 8) where the students will learn to make rubber molds for their creations.

Student Supplies and Tools Needed: A general tool kit (X-acto knife, small tweezers, scissors, and ruler). Please also bring any photos or drawings you may have which you wish to use as a reference and the measurements if you would like to make a piece with a special size to match. Feel free to contact me (Judith Oak Andraka 570-998-9339. 1588 Lake Road, Trout Run, PA 17771) to discuss your project. All materials for making the master are supplied unless you have a certain something that you want to incorporate.
