Workshop 6

18th Century Baby House
With LadyBug SueAnn Thwaite
Wednesday November 3 through Thursday November

9:00 AM - 4:30PM
$430
Come play with LadyBug! The 1700's were known as
the Age of Elegance. The wealthy citizens had a lot of spare time
and prided themselves on their elegant parties and leisure lifestyles.
The pursuit of the arts and education was evidenced in their homes.
This "baby house" was produced by Bespaq exclusively
for LadyBug. It was inspired by an original cabinet from the Frans
Hal museum in the Netherlands. It is an idealized version
of a manor house around 1756, reflecting the home and lifestyle
of its inhabitants. LadyBug created this unique structure which
features architectural details such as a broken pediment, 12 mullioned
windows in the front cabinet doors and 10 furnished rooms with
amazing detail.
The featured rooms are a kitchen/pantry, a billiard room, the
master and mistress bedrooms, the library, a treasure room to
show off their collections of wealth, the music/ballroom, the
tea room, a servants quarters/laundry room, and of course, the
"necessary" room. The class is a 2 day and will be a
jewel in your collection. Students will learn great techniques
in faux painting and how to work effectively in small scale.
The cabinet in one inch scale, approx. 7 ½ inches high,
but is truly a stand-alone piece. An electrified piece costs $530.
Student Supplies and Tools Needed: A normal tool kit, tacky
glue, and fabric tac.
