Matrix Building for Molds

Learn to build the originals. The student will learn to build architectural details such as trims, doorways, furniture parts or other pieces from which to make a mold including flat pieces and 3-dimensional pieces or anything else you like to make to customize for your miniatures. The workshop will include hands on design and making of moldings, ornaments, doorways, windows and other parts from many types of materials. Students may also enroll for the second day class which will be held Thursday November 3 titled Mold Making Simplified, where they will make the actual molds and cast them in resin.

Student Supplies & Tools Needed: General tool kit including X-acto knife, small tweezers, scissors & ruler. Also bring any photos or drawings you may have which you wish to use as reference and measurements if what you're creating involves door or window casings or special sizes to match. Feel free to contact me to discuss you project. All materials for making the master are supplied unless you have a certain something that you want to incorporate.
