Sculpting an Elderly Character Doll with Kim
Murdock & Tania Wakefield During this class you will learn to sculpt the head, hands and feet, with particular emphasis on how to create different facial expressions. You will learn how to paint your figure using Genesis Heat-Set Oil Paints, how to assemble the figure and create lifelike poses. Patterns and fabrics are supplied for you to dress your figure and you will be taught how to create realistic draping effects. We will be supplying all materials required for you to complete your figure. Sculpting tools, a sculpting manual and Genesis paints are available for you to use for the duration of the class. These will be available for purchase after the workshop if you decide you would like to use them at home. Suitable for beginners and experienced crafters alike. Students will need a scalpel/craft knife with a new sharp and clean blade, a clean bathroom or kitchen tile, (your local tile shop will generally give you a sample tile if you ask), round toothpicks/cocktail sticks, a pair of small wire cutters or strong scissors, tacky PVA glue (My own preference is for Aleene's Tacky), super glue, small paintbrushes ranging in size from 10/0, small baby wipes/moist towelettes, and a small pair of fine scissors. Please do not stress if you cannot find any of the items above, we will have spares with us that you can use. If you have a tool case that you normally take to your club classes etc, then it is always a good idea to bring it along, as inevitably there is always something you will need, even if it is not specified above.
