Workshop 19

Chippendale Corner Cabinet on Stand
with Geoff Wonnacott
$290
Thursday November 3, 9:00AM-5:30PM - Friday
November 4, 9AM-4:30PM
This fine example of Chippendale furniture would sit gracefully
in the corner of any elegant late 18th century setting and provide
a safe display for precious china. From a prepared cutting list
of timbers, each student will construct the cabinet and stand.
The legs will be tapered, the spade feet formed and the lower
tier shelf shaped. The door will be made and glazed with decorative
beading applied before hinging into place. Delicate fretwork will
be cut both for the lower brackets and the molded broken pediment.
A finish will be applied and brass key plate fitted. Completion
in the allocated time is likely, however full detailed instructions
accompany the class.
Note: A reasonable skill and ability would be an advantage.
Student Supplies and Tools Needed: All tools and equipment
will be provided by the instructor, however, please feel free
to bring your own small tool box if preferred.
