Workshop 11

Mold Making Simplified
with Judith Oak Andraka

$107

Thursday November 3, 9:00AM-4:30PM

Learn how to make rubber molds for your creations, including flat pieces, 3-dimensional pieces, doorways, trim or anything else you would like to make in quantity. This popular workshop will include hands-on making of a one-part mold, or a two-part mold and also casting resin into the mold to create the piece. Discussion and demonstration will include building various matrices for making the molds and the types of molds in order to make what you wish to craft. Finished molds will vary with each student. This class can be paired with Matrix Building for Molds (held on Wednesday) where the student will build architectural trims, doorways etc from which to make a mold.

Attention: Not for those with a latex allergy!

Student Supplies and Tools Needed: General tool kit-(including X-acto knife, small tweezers and small scissors), thin rubber gloves, a small object to mold (Instructor will have some objects available if you have nothing specific in mind). If a student wishes to make trim molding-such as doors, windows etc, please contact the instructor prior to the class. Instructor will provide all mold and casting materials and supplies to make the mold.
